Exarheia
This project began as the renovation of a former architectural office—a space with strong functional bones but little character—and evolved into the creation of a hybrid environment where living and working coexist naturally. Our intention was to preserve the openness and inherent clarity of the original layout while introducing a new identity through color, light, and carefully calibrated material contrasts.
The deep ultramarine ceiling band became the guiding element of the design, a chromatic framework that unifies the rooms and subtly reshapes perception. Paired with neutral surfaces and a continuous floor, it allows the space to remain calm and adaptable, yet visually distinct. The kitchen area, with its black cabinetry, warm oak shelving, and dynamic red-and-blue tiles, acts as the project’s emotional core—simultaneously domestic, functional, and expressive.
Ultimately, the renovation aims to demonstrate how a minimal set of interventions can redefine atmosphere and purpose. By working with saturation and restraint, transparency and solidity, the space supports both focused work and everyday life. It is a home and a workspace, not as two separate conditions, but as a continuous environment shaped by intentional design.
